Like I said, it's complicated. We were discussing a friend of mine. Some issues they were having. I offered to help and she discounted my ability to be objective because of my emotional attachment to my friend, and ignored everything I said to illustrate that I was perfectly capable of calling him on his own bullshit in private, just like I do with her and Eiffel and everyone else I respect. I got irritated, she doubled down, and it didn't end well.
We've talked. It's not all settled, but it's all at least in the open. We understand each other better after the fact I think. Or I understand her a little better, and how convinced she can be of her own objectivity, because she can't always tell where emotion and logic intersect. I don't think she's convinced yet that emotion and logic can coexist.
