Neal makes a sadly amused noise. "Malcolm, I know you too well for you to fake being fine about this. And I'm going to miss you too much to just be happy about where I'm headed myself."
“I do want you to be happy,” Malcolm sniffles. “But I’m… it just feels like everyone is leaving so… so close together. Francis, then you and Raylan. Is… is Norton going with you, too?”
"No, Norton is staying here. He's promised to visit though. You had better visit, too." He loosens his hold enough for Malcolm to step out of the hug if he wants to, but he's not going to force the end of it himself.
He draws back only enough to look up at Neal’s face. “Norton is staying?” It’s a bit of a relief. “I… don’t really know who I’ll be able to talk to besides Will. There was… only really you and Raylan.”

[Malcolm shows up a few minutes later, knocking before poking his head inside the door.]
Neal?

He is in fact right there, and he draws Malcolm inside and into a hug before the door is entirely closed.
"I am coming back to finish what I started, and the only person who can stop me is the Admiral himself. Got me?"
That last turn of phrase is decidedly Eiffel in its delivery.

"I wanted to be supportive," he says softly. Since the jig is up.
